SHANKAR MAHADEVAN

Shankar Mahadevan, born on 3 March 1967 in Chembur, Mumbai, is one of the most gifted musicians India has produced. As part of the legendary Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio (with Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa), he has composed some of the most iconic soundtracks in Bollywood history.

His Breathless (1998) — a single unbroken melody sung without pause for over 5 minutes — is one of Indian pop music's most remarkable technical achievements. It brought him international attention and remains one of the most recognisable recordings in Indian music.

He founded the Shankar Mahadevan Music Academy, an online music education platform that has enrolled over a million students, making classical Indian music accessible to learners worldwide.
