SACHIN TENDULKAR

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, born on 24 April 1973 in Mumbai, is widely regarded as the greatest batsman in cricket history. A prodigy from the Shardashram Vidyamandir school in Dadar, he made his international debut at just 16 against Pakistan in 1989.

Over a 24-year career, Tendulkar scored 100 international centuries — a record that stands alone in the annals of cricket. He holds virtually every batting record in the sport and was the backbone of Indian cricket for over two decades.

In 2014, he became the first cricketer to receive India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna. He continues to be involved in cricket through Mumbai Indians co-ownership and various sporting initiatives.
