Rohit Sharma, born on 30 April 1987 in Nagpur, moved to Mumbai as a child and rose through the Mumbai cricket ranks to become one of the most elegant batsmen and successful captains in Indian cricket history.
Known as The Hitman for his ability to hit sixes at will, Rohit holds the record for the highest individual ODI score (264) and three ODI double centuries. He has led Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles — the most by any franchise.
He captained India to the T20 World Cup title in 2024, finally ending India's long wait for an ICC trophy — one of the most celebrated moments in recent Indian cricket history.
