Swapnil Joshi, born 27 April 1979 in Mumbai, first found fame playing the young Krishna on the iconic TV series Shree Krishna before transitioning into a leading Marathi cinema career.
A Mumbai native, Joshi continues to be based in the city, where he balances Marathi film projects with occasional theatre work.
His career-defining hit Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai (2010) became one of the most beloved Marathi romantic comedies of its era, spawning two successful sequels.
