Worst place I have ever visited. Please don't visit this restaurant. The food quality was very poor, and both the chicken and mutton had a bad smell. a very disappointing experience. The food quality needs significant improvement. I would not recommend this place to others.

It was a totally "True Waste" experience. I recently ordered Dabba Gosht and Bheja Fry and was quite disappointed with the quality of both dishes. The Dabba Gosht contained only few very small pieces of mutton chunks and did not appear to have been cooked in a rich mutton stock as expected. Additionally, despite specifically mentioning in the cooking instructions that the dish should not be spicy, it was loaded with green chillies and was far spicier than requested. The Bheja Fry was equally disappointing. It tasted more like an Egg Bhurji than a bheja dish, with very little Bheja present and almost no distinct flavour from it. The dish was also excessively oily. When I called to provide feedback, the response was rather casual. I was informed that Bheja Fry normally contains egg and that Bheja Masala is the dish made only with bheja, which was surprising as this was not mentioned in the menu. Regarding the Dabba Gosht, the person simply informed the chef that a complaint had been received and then ended the conversation by saying that the owner would be informed, as nothing could be done at that point. As a customer, I expected both better food quality and a more constructive response to my concerns. The only item I genuinely enjoyed was the Rumali Roti, which was soft, fresh, and very well made. Unfortunately, that was the only highlight of an otherwise disappointing meal.

True Taste is one of the oldest Mughlai food spots in Vasai, started around 21 years ago since 2005, and it has long been our go-to place for Mughlai cravings. Over the years it has remained a reliable favourite whenever weโre craving hearty, flavourful non-veg food in Vasai. Despite its simple and unassuming setup, the kitchen consistently delivers food packed with bold spices and comforting flavours. What we personally keep going back for are their Chicken Bhuna with Paratha, which has almost become our default order here. The bhuna gravy is rich, deeply spiced and incredibly satisfying, while the parathas are soft and perfect for scooping up every bit of that delicious curry. Their various chicken and mutton curries are equally comforting and full of character, making them ideal for a proper indulgent Mughlai meal. Another absolute favourite is their Chicken Baida Roti, which is always a treat โ crisp on the outside, packed with flavourful filling and extremely satisfying. For quick bites, the Chicken Shawarma is also very popular and makes for a great grab-and-go option. The menu has plenty of other delicious dishes worth exploring. Their Chicken White Tandoori, Chicken Red Tikka, Chicken Seekh Kebab and Mutton Seekh Kebab are great starters if you enjoy smoky tandoori flavours. Rice lovers can go for the Chicken Biryani or Chicken Fried Rice, while local favourites like Mutton Keema Pav and Chicken Bhuna Pav bring in that comforting street-style touch. And of course, a meal here often ends on a sweet note with their pudding/custard, which is simple, nostalgic and one of our personal favourites. A special mention has to go to Ramzan time, when the place truly comes alive with a variety of special starters and seasonal dishes that are absolutely worth trying. Itโs one of the best times to visit if you want to explore more of what their kitchen has to offer. What makes True Taste special is the consistency of flavour, generous portions and the comforting familiarity of their food. Itโs the kind of neighbourhood place you return to again and again because you know the meal will always hit the spot. A wonderful spot in Vasai for flavourful Mughlai dishes, shawarmas and comforting curries.
