VIDYA BALAN

Vidya Balan, born 1 January 1979 in Mumbai, is celebrated for pioneering female-led, content-driven Hindi cinema. She debuted with Parineeta (2005) and went on to define a new era of women-centric storytelling.

A born-and-raised Mumbaikar, Vidya has lived in Versova for much of her career, an area favoured by actors seeking a quieter creative environment near the studios of Andheri.

Her career-defining performance in The Dirty Picture (2011) earned her the National Film Award for Best Actress, and she continues to headline acclaimed films like Kahaani and Sherni.
