MADHURI DIXIT

Madhuri Dixit Nene, born on 15 May 1967 in Mumbai, is widely considered one of the greatest dancers in the history of Indian cinema. Known as the Dhak Dhak Girl after her iconic song from Tezaab, she dominated Bollywood through the late 1980s and the entire 1990s.

Her roles in Tezaab, Dil, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (cameo) and Devdas showed extraordinary range — from the girl-next-door to the classical dancer to the tragic heroine. Her chemistry with Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor became legendary.

She married cardiologist Dr Shriram Nene in 1999 and moved to Denver, USA. She returned to Mumbai in 2011 and has since been a regular judge on dance reality shows and recently launched her own digital dance platform.
