Vidhu Vinod Chopra, born 5 September 1952 in Srinagar, is one of Indian cinema's most successful director-producers, responsible for some of Bollywood's biggest blockbusters.
Long based in Mumbai, Chopra built his production empire, Vinod Chopra Films, within the city, working closely with the local talent ecosystem.
His credits include the Munna Bhai franchise and the record-breaking 3 Idiots, and he is married to film critic and journalist Anupama Chopra.
