Had lunch at The Village Shop today with my husband and overall it was a good experience. The food was fresh, wholesome, and itโs definitely a great place for people with allergies, dietary restrictions, or specific food preferences. There was one mix-up where potato was added instead of sweet potato mash in one of the dishes, but the team replaced it with exotic vegetables without any issue, which we appreciated. The only area that could really improve is the service and ingredient awareness among the staff. Our waiter didnโt seem very well informed about the ingredients and communication could have been better, especially for a place that caters to special diets and allergies. He was also taking the order from behind the counter instead of coming to the table, which felt a little impersonal. That said, itโs still a lovely place with great potential, and this feedback is only to help make the experience even better with more informed and attentive staff.

I had a very ghastly and amusing experience at the Village Shop. I spent a Monday morning here, was hoping to get my coffee and breakfast in some peace and quiet. It was only me in the cafe and the owner with 2 of her staff on another table. In the first 10 mins I figured the owner had issues with staff, even though they spoke in hushed tones. I let it slide. Naturally, I have no context of that conversation. The food wasnโt up to the mark. They had it replaced without getting defensive. Then, after a few mins I spoke loudly because I was on a call, and there was no one else in the cafe but me and the owner, I was asked to speak softly. She was irked. I gladly obliged. I stepped outside to take my call. For 45 mins. In the heat. You see, I have been brought up with a lot of empathy. It felt like my grandmother gave me a punishment to not enter the house. What a ghastly experience for a Bandra cafe. I hope the owners have the business acumen to start something else of their own. Customer centricity and empathy are not the strongest suit of some of the most affluent people in Bandra. What tarnishes reputation is lack of empathy for staff and no understanding of what customer focus looks like. Money canโt buy you manners or class. Its evident to me today, yet again :)

They have relocated, and are much closer to the street now, just next to candies, and the entry is beautiful. Adorned with greenery. Super cute and cozy cafe serving great coffee and food choices. You're bound to return.

The place has great ambience but somehow lacks on smaller aspects. For example the Kombucha that we ordered was not cold. The ice also came a little late. The staff is very polite and courteous. However the food can be better. Cost wise i would say not too expensive but not cheap either.

Firstly! Itโs a bit inside so you might not find it easily! But the space is cute cozy and really nice! Itโs a pet friendly space so you can take your pets there! The service is great but they do take some time to get what youโve ordered. The foods quite good here for the price! I loved their hot chocolate the most! And their goey chocolate cake too. If you have a sweet tooth you might like to try out the dessert menu. Quite yum Oh and yea! Their mushroom burger too was amazing. Incase youโre with a big group you might have to reserve the space!
