Had to wait for 45-50 mins for any order. And food was not even average. Very bad food, extremely costly, terrible food and service experience. Even the table / ambiance wasn’t upto the mark - broken table edges. Wouldn’t recommend it at all.

We recently stayed at the Taj and had the pleasure of dining at Masala Bay. The service/hospitality and most of all the food was outstanding, to say the least. Everything was on point, from presentation to taste to quantity. Masala Bay did not fail to disappoint.

As a long-time patron of Taj Lands End, I was disappointed by our recent lunch at Masala Bay. What was intended as a premium business catch-up resulted in a sub-par meal that did not reflect Taj’s usual excellence. The Critique: • Starters: The Prawns Lasunia were tough and difficult to cut, while the Chicken Angari lacked any distinct character. • Mains: The Dhabewala Chicken felt uninspired—poorly marinated with a sauce-heavy base—and the Dhaniya Murgh was overcompensated with spice and oil rather than balanced flavor. • Value: At a price point of ₹8,500, the culinary execution felt significantly below industry standards. The Silver Lining: The service staff and management were exceptionally attentive and clearly concerned by our feedback. While the hospitality remains world-class, the kitchen requires immediate attention to its consistency and flavor profiles. We left feeling the meal was unfortunately "criminal" for the price paid.

hi, Had a disaster of an experience at Masala Bay yesterday. but... First off let me say I'm a huge Tata Group fan. Huge is an understatement. Love their philosophy and how they look after their employees too. Doggys too. Am also a huge Taj Landsend fan for 20+ years. My colleague & now friend was down from Singapore for a few days and we had to catchup and also do a business kind of chat so we decided Taj Landsend as a meetup place. I suggested that. and I asked a person who I like and respect who works there - where do we eat, we would like a buffet/indian continental. He suggested Masala Bay, the best for Indian food. When we met up at 2 pm, we went there. We ordered starters - Prawns Lasunia (was not good. the taste was so so, probably for international palate but we couldn't easily even cut the prawns piece with fork/knife) - chicken angari (again strictly ok, average, but better than prawns, imagine) main course was a bigger disaster - Roomali roti (for some reason they put oil/butter inside Roomali, that's another type of prep only and i hate Roomali like that) - dhabewala chicken (I can't tell u how horrible this was. I think they put sauce in it and the chicken pieces were terribly cooked, no marination nothing) - We grumbled a little - Service was very attentive and everyone including manager was concerned but what could they do. - then they suggested dhaniya murgh, i req spicy so chef put so much lal mirch with oil on top that even that was terrible. - they could make out we were leaving food and not very happy - so they got the chef out. - I didn't speak w the chef becos it was so bad I would have said something that would have just hurt him. - the gratis pan at the end was good. - we quietly paid the bill and left. - we went down to the lobby and I just had water where as my friend to change the taste of the mouth had to resort to Gin/tonic. I would seriously recommend either get new chefs or do something. This was not just terrible as per Taj standards but also terrible as per even a dingy small hole in the wall restaurant standards. Then realising ur paying 8500 for it is criminal. hope other foodies read this and stay away, don't burn their experience and money.

Amazing food overall with top notch offerings from their tandoor. Classical hotel setting. The tandoori chicken, prawn, and paneer were all absolutely delicious. The local pomfret was like butter. Perfect. Mutton stew with probably the best naan ever was followed by a rich, buttery biryani. Perfect.
