This place has such an amazing tropical ambience. You are welcomed by soulful Goan music, and the vibe is relaxed and unhurried. The servers donโt rush you, making it a perfect spot to truly enjoy your meal. Mr. Merwin, the manager, took great care of us, and our servers Sonia and Edwin were humble, polite, and very prompt, obliging us with every request. The food is unlike anything youโve tasted.. authentic Goan cuisine rooted deeply in the culture and spices of Goa. Every dish is beautifully presented, with thoughtful plating that elevates the experience without being overdone. The cutlery, plates, and glassware are aesthetically pleasing and enhance the dining experience, without robbing you of quantity. Portions are generous and satisfying. From the big plates, we had the Traditional Pork Sorpatel with rice, Goan-style chilli chicken, and Surmai fish curry rice. The sorpatel was so authentic it made my mum emotional...it brought back memories of old friends who had cooked traditional pork dishes in her younger days. The Goan-style chilli chicken was the standout dish of the afternoon...smooth, succulent, and packed with a powerful flavour punch. The surmai fish curry rice felt like something an old granny had made, warm, comforting, and soulful. From the small plates, we tried the Goan fried chicken with spicy mayo...six generous boneless strips, made to order, pairing perfectly with lime and the spicy mayo. The grilled squid stuffed with crab was outstanding, with the masala truly stealing the show. The prawn balchao masala stuffed forminhas crispy tarts were tangy and well-made; while not my personal favourite, they were only overshadowed by stronger dishes. The tender coconut and raw mango salad was light, tropical, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. For drinks, we had the Coconut Boy Refresher, Kokum Spritz, and Tamarind Trails. These are not your usual cocktails... Goan spices and flavours take centre stage, and an open mind is needed to fully enjoy them. Coconut Boy truly lives up to its promise of 'fresh' and delivers an experience that transports you straight to Goa. Highly recommended even if youโre simply looking for some relaxed downtime with exceptional food and service.
