After many years visited this fabulous steak joint. Loved the sizzler - quality of the meat, the taste was just fabulous . I would definitely recommend steak/sizzler lovers who have been here, a must visit. Keep it going, Team Gondola! Best Wishes!

A small place,missed easily if u don't look fr it on Pali hill.The sizzlers at around 950 rs.were good,grilled well with a generous portion of sauce n sides n the Chinese food was good too. However ,the place is too cramped for comfort. Go here fr a hearty meal with no fuss.

We visited GONDOLA in Bandra today with great expectations...

We visited GONDOLA in Bandra today with great expectations for we had heard a lot about this place. We first ordered a 'Crispy Honey Paneer'. What arrived was 'Crispy Honey CHICKEN'. We had to return it. I ordered a a 'Medium Rare steak' with veggies, mashed potatoes & Mushroom sauce. I got a FLATTENED PIECE OF MEAT, 'HEAVILY OVER DONE' with FRENCH FRIES, and vegetables which were overcooked and doused in oil and Soy sauce (obviously they were made for sizzlers and the lazy COOK served them with a Steak). The Mushroom sauce was a disgrace, it was a white sauce (not Brown), hinting that there was ZERO STOCK, WINE AND OTHER INGREDIENTS USED as it should've been. It was a shameful mix of Cream and diced Mushrooms, which tasted Horribly bland (not a grain of salt in it). I returned it, for I do not like to eat meat that is over cooked like burnt leather. Requested the order taker to PLEASE get me a proper thick piece of MEDIUM RARE steak....I advised him to tell the 'Chef' to cook it for 3 to 5 minutes each side which will do the trick. The waiter came back with the same bed of stir fried vegetables, but this time had a decent 1 inch thick Sirloin on it. Made me happy. But my happiness was short lived, for when I cut the meat, it turned out to be a RARE. It was just lightly seared for about 1mm on the outside and TOTALLY RAW INSIDE. As I did not wish to be infected with Gastrointestinal disease by eating raw meat, obviously I complained to the order taker and sent back the steak for the SECOND TIME. This probably frustrated the inexperienced 'COOK' (Cannot insult the Chef's profession by calling this person who messed up a simple steak and who has NO CLUE about sauces or even about how veggies are served with a steak, a CHEF). He just clobbered the lovely shaped sirloin with a meat tenderizer, FLATTENED IT COMPLETELY and sent it back to me within 1 minute. I asked the order taker, what kind of 'COOK' he had, who is continously messing up a simple order. The poor order taker who was doing a wondefdul job and was most courteous, looked visibly embarassed. Finally, not wanting to take a chance, I accepted the ordertakers suggestion and ordered a Chicken instead. Th chicken which was obviously prepared for a sizzler as it was cooked with all the ingredients used for sizzlers. I was too tired to complain a 4th time, so quietly ate the Chicken, heavily doused in Soy sauce.... It was a horrible night, totaly ruined by a horrible cook, who truly does not belong in a classy place like GONDOLA. I definitely will never return to GONDOLA, but if the OWNER of GONDOLA gets to read this review, he would be doing his restaurant a favour by FIRING THE HORRIBLE COOK, sobhe does not lose more customers. Finally, please do not take your customers for granted and serve them anything you feel like to save money. Just because you serve a lot of sizzlers, it does not mean that you serve the vegetables you have pre-prwpared for sizzlers, along with all your dishes. Reapect your clients, give them their money's worth. If you serve them garbage, like I was served today, you will ultimately not have any customers left to fool. The service and the attitude of all the wait staff was good. I truly felt bad for the order taker, who was doing a wonderful job, but the COOK let him down with the horrible food. What a SHAME!!!
