Worst restaurant experience of my life. Everything from...
Worst restaurant experience of my life. Everything from ordering to eating was a complete mess. The restaurant itself looked like it was either being demolished or under renovation. Temporary green sheets were hanging around, the setup looked unfinished and unorganized, and there was no proper seating arrangement โ we had to stand. We initially ordered Meetha Bhath, Devanagari Masala Dosa, Idli and Medu Vada through the kiosk and paid โน588. After payment, the receipt did not print. The manager then took our order on WhatsApp and informed us that only Idli and Benne Dosa were available. Instead of refunding unavailable items, we were asked to replace our order with whatever was left. The ghee podi idli arrived first. The idli itself was okay, but the chutney tasted sour and seemed spoiled, especially in this heat. We asked for tissue paper โ out of stock. Asked for drinking water from their own menu โ out of stock. Ordered filter coffee โ tasted more like melted Coffee Bite chocolate than actual filter coffee. After waiting almost 20 minutes for dosa, staff first attempted to serve us someone elseโs order. When our dosa finally arrived, both dosas had no salt at all. We refused to eat them and asked for a refund. After arguing with the manager for nearly 15 minutes, we finally got the refund, only to then discover that they were apparently out of salt too. What made it worse was that the staff seemed completely unapologetic through the entire experience. There was no ownership, concern, or effort to make things right. A restaurant can run out of an item or two, but running out of menu items, tissues, water, salt and basic organization is unbelievable. The place also looked poorly maintained and gave an unhygienic impression overall. Looking at the setup in the photos, it did not feel like a place ready to serve customers. Extremely disappointing.

Very disappointing experience overall. The restaurant seemed to be under renovation or in a temporary setup, with no proper seating arrangements and an unfinished environment. From a customer perspective, it did not feel clean or properly maintained. We placed an order through the kiosk for multiple items and paid โน588, but the receipt failed to print. Later we were informed that most items were unavailable and were asked to modify the order instead of receiving a refund. The idli was acceptable, but the chutney tasted sour. Tissues and drinking water were unavailable, which was surprising. The filter coffee also did not meet expectations. After a long wait, our dosa arrived after staff initially attempted to hand us an incorrect order. The dosas themselves had no salt and were inedible. We eventually requested a refund and had to spend additional time discussing it with the manager. The experience was further affected by the staffโs attitude, which felt unapologetic despite multiple issues during the visit. Basic inventory management, customer communication and cleanliness standards need significant improvement.

A Bangalore-style gem in the heart of Mumbai! I visited KTR (Karnataka Tiffin Room) for a quick breakfast and honestly, I was fanboying the entire time. If youโre looking for authentic Karnataka flavors, this is it. โThe Food: The Open Masala Podi Davangere Dosa was bang on, crispy, buttery, and perfectly spiced. The Idli with Neer Chutney was incredibly comforting, and the Cold Filter Coffee was the perfect refreshing end to the meal. โ Don't be fooled by the exterior! Inside, itโs a whole different vibe with lovely, soft Kannada songs playing in the background. Itโs mostly self-service, the food comes out super quick, and it is incredibly value for money. Highly recommended for a soul-satisfying South Indian fix!

Tried out KTR in Versova and honestly, itโs a solid spot if youโre craving authentic South Indian flavors ๐ We ordered: โจ Podi Thatte Idli โ Soft, fluffy, and generously coated with podi. The spice hit was just right without overpowering the idli. โจ Bangalore Dosa โ Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and perfectly balanced. Classic comfort done well. โจ Medu Vada โ Super crisp and light, not oily at all. Paired beautifully with chutney. โจ Hot & Cold Filter Coffee โ A must-try! The hot one had that strong, aromatic kick, while the cold version was smooth and refreshing. Overall, the quality and authenticity really stand out. Simple menu, but everything is done right. Definitely a place Iโd come back to when I want no-fuss, satisfying South Indian food โโจ Rating: 4.5/5

Karnataka Tiffin Room in Versova is a lovely spot for anyone craving authentic South Indian tiffin. Somehow it feels a bit underrated, perhaps because the spotlight often goes to Benne in Juhu. But Karnataka Tiffin Room quietly holds its own with excellent food. The dosas are crisp, flavorful, and perfectly done, and the filter coffee is strong, aromatic, and exactly what youโd want to end a meal with. If youโre around Versova and looking for a proper South Indian breakfast or snack, this place definitely deserves more attention.
