Beautiful church located close to Uttan naka. The church is old with a long history and old architecture including a highly decorated altar. I reached there on a weekday when the church was closed but the church office staff was very sweet and allowed me to enter the church. It was a wonderful experience. The path leading up to the church has gorgeous houses too. Make it a point to stop here.

A historic Roman Catholic Church located in Uttan. It was built by the Portuguese Franciscans between 1630 & 1634. This church was destroyed by the Marathas in 1739 and rebuilt in 1787. It is one of the oldest churches in Mumbai. Its interior is simple having wooden pews, windows, gold guided altar, side altars etc. The main altar had a barrel vaulted ceiling. There are tombstones inside and outside the church. The facade of this church had two belfry towers on either side. There is a small grotto at the side of the church. Had attended a mass service in this church in Marathi language. It is an ideal place for local devotees as well as people of other faith.
