A family member spent many days in the ICU at Galaxy Superspeciality Hospital, Mulund East, following a surgery performed at the same hospital. To be fair, the surgery was successful and we have no complaints regarding the doctors and nursing staff who treated the patient. Unfortunately, our overall experience with the hospital's management and facilities was extremely disappointing. The biggest concern was hygiene and cleanliness. We observed cockroaches in the reception area on multiple occasions almost everyday. The reception floor would often remain dirty with shoeprints and smudges for hours without being cleaned. There was also a pile of garbage near the hospital entrance that frequently produced an unpleasant smell. Another major issue was the complete lack of proper washroom facilities for visitors and attendants. It is difficult to understand how a multi-speciality hospital can operate without providing basic restroom facilities for families of admitted patients. Female members of our family were often forced to use a small and poorly maintained staff washroom. The behavior and professionalism of some non-medical staff was also concerning. We observed staff members speaking loudly amongst themselves in the reception area and, on multiple occasions, playing videos on their mobile phones at an audible volume. We were also concerned by what appeared to be a reception staff member who seemed semi-intoxicated on several occasions. Seeing such behavior at the front desk of a hospital raises serious questions about management oversight. The reception area itself has no air conditioning. Families of ICU patients are often required to spend long hours waiting for updates, and sitting for hours in Mumbai's heat with only old fans for ventilation made an already difficult situation even more uncomfortable. We also experienced a critical administrative error where a prescription handed to us contained both the wrong surname and wrong age for our patient. We had to verify with two different members of the hospital staff that we were purchasing the correct medicines. Such mistakes should never occur in a professional healthcare setting. While we appreciate the care provided by the doctors and nurses, the hospital's poor hygiene standards, inadequate facilities, administrative lapses, and lack of professionalism among some support staff left us with a very negative impression and multiplied our emotional distress levels.

Patient Name: Aslam Shaikh Hospital: Manisha Universal...
Patient Name: Aslam Shaikh Hospital: Manisha Universal Multispeciality Hospital, Mulund and Galaxy Superspeciality Hospital - Cardiologist in Mulund, 2D echo in Mulund, Cardiac Hospital in Mulund Doctor name :- Dr. Sagar R Morankar Managing Director and Dhammdeep Humeme surgeon Doctors: Dr. Sagar and Dr. Dhamandeep** My dad was taken to Manisha Universal Hospital at night. When we reached the upper gate of the hospital, it was locked, and the staff couldnโt find the key. There was no one at the reception. We knocked on the door, but there was no response for about 5 minutes. Then one person came and said they couldnโt find the key. It took them 20 minutes to finally get it.Unfortunately, in those 20 minutes, my dad suffered a heart attack right outside the hospital. After that, he was immediately taken to the ICU due to severe chest pain. His treatment started, and the next day the doctors told us that an angiography needed to be done. We gave our consent for it.There was an operation theatre in the hospital itself, but without properly informing us, they decided to shift him to another hospital. They didnโt take permission from any family member. An ambulance was called, and they suddenly took him away. When we asked where they were taking him, they replied, "We donโt know."One of our relatives went along in the ambulance, and the rest of us followed. He was taken to **Galaxy Hospital in Mulund East** and admitted to the ICU there. The hospital staff told us that the doctor (Dr. Dhamandeep) would arrive in 15 minutes, but he came only after 1.5 hours. My dad was then taken into the operation theatre for the angiography. When the reports came, we were informed. However, during the process, the hospital staff misbehaved with us. The family members who were present with the patient were treated very rudely. The staff kept pushing us and telling us to go downstairs, that we were not allowed to stay there โ even though we explained that our patient was in a serious condition. After the angiography, an ambulance was called again, and my dad was shifted back to **Manisha Hospital. The patient had mediclaim insurance, but the hospital staff just wanted money, which is why the doctor kept delaying the operation. The doctor had said that the surgery would be done on Saturday afternoon. But then he left the hospital. Later, when the patientโs wife went to the reception to ask what time the surgery was scheduled, they said there was no surgery planned. At that moment, another doctor told the patient in the ICU that the operation would happen on Monday. When we called Dr. Sagar, he said the operation wonโt happen until an application number is generated. So we asked him why he had been saying for the last 3 to 4 days that the operation would be done. Suddenly, he changed his statement and said that the patientโs wife and daughter had refused the operation โ which was a complete lie. Why would the family refuse the surgery when the patientโs condition was critical? Then he said we have to pay โน20,000 for the operation, otherwise it wonโt be done. It was clear that they just wanted money, which is why they kept the patient in the ICU for so long and gave us a bill of โน1.66 lakhs. They wanted to keep the patient admitted longer to fully exhaust the mediclaim, which is why they delayed the surgery. The medicine bill alone was โน73,000 โ but the patient said he was not even given that many medicines, especially since no treatment was given in the last 3 days. The doctors kept giving contradictory information โ different stories each time. This hospital is a fraud. We stayed in that hospital for 5 days, and we saw 3 such similar cases. Once they get the money, they stop the treatment. So, everyone please be cautious โ never go to this hospital for treatment. We have suffered a lot over the last 5 days
Doctor's were good and guided us during the treatment. ...
Doctor's were good and guided us during the treatment. Services were good and staff was supportive, but it can be improved and the discharge procedure could be must faster incase of cashless reimbursement. They should arrange for a staff replacement of their claim/cashless TPA department during weekends (saturday and sunday) for convenience of the early discharge of patients from hospital.
I am writing to bring attention from Galaxy hospital...
I am writing to bring attention from Galaxy hospital management on some concerns regarding the services provided to my mother Suman Siyaram Gupta who admitted at Galaxy Multi-speciality Hospital, Mulund East from 26th to 30th March 2024. Unfortunately, throughout her stay, we have encountered several instances of what we perceive as poor service and inadequate attention to her needs. Some of the specific issues we have encountered include such as delays in medication administration, lack of communication from staff, cleanliness concerns, etc. As a family, we understand the challenges that healthcare providers face, especially during busy times or understaffed situations. However, the consistent nature of these issues has raised significant concerns for us regarding the quality of care being provided to my mother. We believe that every patient deserves the highest standard of care and attention, and we are hopeful that by bringing these issues to your attention, improvements can be made to ensure that other patients do not experience similar difficulties in the future. Also, upon reviewing the final bill for the services provided, I noticed that the deposit amount I initially paid during my mom admitted. As a result, I am requesting a refund of the deposit amount. To provide further context, the deposit amount I paid at the time of admission was Rs 5,000/- this was charged through Star Health Insurance. I kindly request a meeting or discussion with the appropriate personnel to address these concerns and work together to find solutions that will improve the overall experience for patients at Galaxy Hospital. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
