We are extremely disappointed with the handling of our diabetic child at Children’s Hospital, Malad. Despite repeated vomiting episodes, severe stomach pain, and our repeated insistence that the child required immediate IV fluids/drip support, the situation was taken very lightly. Instead of initiating urgent treatment, the staff spent nearly 40 minutes only noting symptoms and attempting oral medication, even after the child vomited again. During this delay, the ketone levels increased further and the child entered ketosis. We were also shocked that before starting the drip, we were first asked to make a preliminary payment, despite the child’s worsening condition and obvious medical urgency. Additionally, the father was sent out to purchase medicines instead of the hospital promptly arranging emergency care. In our experience, the hospital appeared poorly equipped and inadequately prepared to handle pediatric diabetic emergencies efficiently and urgently. The delay in treatment and lack of prompt diabetic crisis management caused unnecessary deterioration in the child’s condition and immense distress to the family. Ultimately, no actual treatment was initiated there, and we had no choice but to leave and rush our child to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for proper emergency care.

On Day 2, I met Dr. Nilesh (ENT), who carefully evaluated my condition and gave the correct advice and medications for recovery. Both doctors were professional, clear in their explanation, and reassuring. The medicines prescribed were appropriate and helped in controlling the infection. The reception staff, especially Akshita and Yash, were polite, helpful, and cooperative during the registration and consultation process. Overall, I received good treatment and consultation. From admission to discharge, everything was handled very smoothly and professionally.we were there for two days everything was very smooth. A special thanks to Dr. Amol nage for his outstanding care and expertise. He was extremely kind, polite, and very clear while explaining the entire procedure to us. His calm and reassuring personality gave us a lot of confidence and peace of mind during a stressful time. We truly felt that our son was in safe hands. The nursing staff and all medical team members were very supportive and attentive. Even the non-medical staff were helpful, friendly, and cooperative throughout our stay.
