Extremely poor service and shady pricing tactics at Paul Chinese, Mahim. Sitting in the non-AC section, we were intentionally given the expensive AC section menus. When I caught them on video and questioned the waiter, he quickly swapped it for the normal menu claiming a 'mistake.' When confronted, the Receptionist became incredibly defensive, lied about an earlier insult he made, and when he ran out of arguments, he resorted to verbal abuse and used foul language(hindi bad word). Avoid this place if you value respect and honest pricing.

Some restaurants become popular, while others become part of a city’s collective memory. Paul’s Chinese in Dadar firmly belongs to the latter category. For decades, it has been serving generations of Mumbaikars, earning a reputation that stretches from local food lovers to cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar himself. Yet despite its fame, Paul’s has retained the authenticity and soul that made it a neighbourhood favourite in the first place. The food here is everything Mumbai-style Chinese should be bold, comforting, flavourful, and immensely satisfying. Every dish arrives packed with the unmistakable aromas and flavours that have made Paul’s an institution. The legendary Chicken Chopper Rice is an absolute masterpiece and a must-order. Hearty, indulgent, and loaded with flavour, it perfectly captures the restaurant’s signature style. Equally impressive is the Triple Rice, a beloved classic that delivers the perfect balance of rice, noodles, gravy, and textures in every bite. The Hakka Noodles are expertly prepared, with just the right amount of wok hei and seasoning that keeps you reaching for more. One of the highlights of the meal was undoubtedly the Paul’s Special Non-Veg Box, a generous feast that showcases the kitchen’s greatest hits in one satisfying package. The Veg Box is equally impressive and proves that vegetarian diners are in for just as memorable an experience. The starters deserve special applause. Whether it’s the succulent chicken preparations, fresh seafood delicacies, or the surprisingly delicious vegetarian offerings, every dish demonstrates why Paul’s continues to command such a loyal following. The seafood is particularly noteworthy… fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavour without being overwhelmed by sauces. Beyond the food, the service reflects the warmth of a family-run legacy. The staff are courteous, attentive, and efficient, handling the bustling crowds with ease while ensuring guests feel welcome and comfortable. There is a sense of familiarity and genuine hospitality that is increasingly rare in today’s dining scene. What makes Paul’s truly special is the legacy it carries. This is not just a restaurant; it is a Mumbai institution. Countless college students, office-goers, families, late-night food seekers, and loyal regulars have grown up eating here. The fact that it remains a favourite across generations is perhaps the greatest testament to its quality and consistency. In a city overflowing with new restaurants and fleeting food trends, Paul’s Chinese continues to stand tall because it understands something timeless: great food, generous portions, warm service, and consistency never go out of style. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a lifelong regular, a meal at Paul’s feels like reconnecting with an old friend. A true Dadar legend and one of Mumbai’s most iconic Chinese dining destinations.

Recently they have decorated the restaurant. And in terms of food and quantity is amazing.

Today, I visited Paul’s Chinese after watching a YouTube video that recommended their chicken triple Schezwan fried rice. I have been eating this dish since 2013 at many places across Mumbai, and it is usually served with an omelette. However, here I did not receive one. When I asked the chef, he said that chicken triple Schezwan fried rice does not come with an omelette and that only chicken chopper fried rice is served with one.I then showed their staff the video, where it was clearly mentioned that the chicken triple Schezwan fried rice contains an omelette. The person at the cash counter laughed and said that perhaps the owner had added it only for the YouTube video and that they do not actually serve an omelette with this dish. This felt quite misleading. The taste of the food was also average, and I have had much better chicken triple Schezwan fried rice at other places in Mumbai. Overall, I was disappointed with both the service and the honesty of the restaurant. Will not recommend for this dish.

Situated in Mahim Cadel road is good place to have Chinese cuisine. We ordered Chicken chilly, Prawns crispy, Chicken chopper rice and triple schewan noddles. Paul Chinese is budget friendly famous for its quantity. Taste is delicious and service was quick. Weekends the place is jam pack so had to wait for 10mins. Parking is bit difficult to find. Can plan to have a casual amily and friends weekend dinner/lunch. Not a place to celebrate special occasion. Ambience is bit noisyb but food is something you can enjoy.
