### **Disclaimer:** I didn’t go through with treatment because I prefer being treated by an actual doctor, not someone who seems more focused on squeezing money out of patients, especially those who may not be financially well-off. And I say that with full awareness of what “poor patients” truly means. **My Experience:** I’m new to the city, so I searched online for a dermatologist nearby who had good reviews. Strangely enough, this particular doctor came up as one of the top-rated in the area. The appointment process was smooth, the lady who answered the phone was polite and scheduled me for the next day, which is the day of review. And of course, like it’s becoming all too common these days, the doctor didn’t show up on time despite the appointment. When the doctor finally arrived, I was called in. I explained that I had a skin rash and also an issue on the scalp, both seemingly related. Without even hearing me out properly, she immediately declared, “That’s two different problems,” and proceeded to say she charges separately for each issue. I was stunned at how transactional her tone was like I’d committed a crime by showing up with two symptoms. At that moment, I started questioning the setup. Is this how some doctors in this city operate, charging patients separately for every concern just to make more money? I even thought to myself: if I were okay paying this kind of fee, I would’ve gone to a more qualified dermatologist. Someone with a proper masters degree and specialization not someone who’s only done a diploma course or vocational training in dermatology. My intention was simple: to consult a regular, affordable doctor for a rash, not an overpriced cosmetologist. Ironically, this doctor was charging *more* than the high-end specialists do. I told her, “Even though I can afford it, I refuse to waste money like this,” and walked out. ### **Why I’m Sharing This:** It’s important to understand the nature of your health problem and how much it should realistically cost to treat it. At the end of the day, it’s *your* health and *your* money. I’m glad I learned something today, and I hope this helps others stay cautious and informed too. Also please let the doctor mention her qualifications.
