I had a horrible and extremely disappointing experience with Chandu Halwai. This was my first time visiting Mumbai, and when my office asked if I wanted to bring anything back, I requested ladoo and kaju katli. They sent an office assistant to pick them up from Chandu Halwai, and I paid in cash. I carried two boxes of sweets all the way from Mumbai to the USA with so much excitement, telling my family I brought special sweets from India. To my surprise, when I opened the boxes, the sweets were completely dried out—clearly old stock. This isn’t about the money; it’s about the effort, excitement, and sentiment behind bringing these sweets home. I am extremely disappointed and do not recommend Chandu Halwai to anyone. Please don’t waste your money here.
