I’ve been visiting Surti since childhood, mainly for their aamras puri and palak paneer, which used to be excellent. Sadly, the only thing consistent now is the decline in quality. The place seems to be run by the next generation, and the owner apparently believes rude staff is part of the service package. The way customers are spoken to is shocking, and management doesn’t seem to care at all. Hygiene? Don’t expect much. When we complained about insects and cockroaches, the casual reply was: “Hotel hai… aa jata hai… kuch nahi kar sakte.” Well, thank you for the honesty at least. Also surprising for such a big restaurant - there isn’t even a toilet for customers. If you’re looking for bad service, poor hygiene, and a ruined mood, Surti Hotel is perfect. Otherwise, do yourself a favour and avoid this place completely. Mumbai has far better restaurants that actually respect their customers
