1/5 โ One of the Worst Mughlai Dining Experiences We've Had...
1/5 โ One of the Worst Mughlai Dining Experiences We've Had We visited Delhi Darbar, Jogeshwari West for my brother's birthday celebration, expecting the quality and hospitality associated with the Delhi Darbar name. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had. We started with roasted and fried papad. The roasted papad had a small hair on it. I quietly removed it without informing my family to avoid spoiling the occasion, but such hygiene lapses should never happen. For starters, we ordered the Shahi Kebab Platter, Mutton Kebab, and Finger Chips. The kebabs were the only items that tasted genuinely good, although the quantity was quite small. Even the Finger Chips portion was surprisingly small considering the pricing. The rest of the food was disappointing: Veg Crispy was overloaded with oil and had the smell of reused cooking oil. We hardly ate any of it and packed almost the entire dish. Nobody from the staff bothered to ask whether there was an issue. Chicken Schezwan Tandoori seemed to be prepared using stale tandoori chicken. Butter Chicken was very average and lacked the richness expected from a reputed Mughlai restaurant. Mutton Masala was swimming in oil and had an ordinary taste. Paneer Tikka Biryani contained hard paneer pieces, excessive oil, and very little flavor. The Chicken Dum Biryani was the biggest disappointment. The rice quality was shockingly poor, consisting largely of broken "tukda" rice that we wouldn't even use for khichdi at home. It was excessively oily and filled with potato pieces. For a restaurant known for Mughlai cuisine, serving a biryani of this quality is simply unacceptable. The service was equally disappointing. At one point, one of our family members had to get a plate himself because the attending manager was busy on a phone call. The manager came across as rude, inattentive, and unprofessional. Basic hospitality and customer service seemed completely missing. What made the experience even more frustrating was that despite several dishes being left unfinished, no one from the staff showed any concern or made an effort to understand whether there was a problem with the food. Our bill exceeded โน5,000, yet the overall quality of food and service was nowhere near the level expected for that price. My family and I have dined at numerous Mughlai restaurants across Mumbai over the years, ranging from small establishments to premium dining venues, and this was honestly one of the worst experiences we've had. A birthday celebration that should have been memorable for the right reasons ended up being memorable for all the wrong ones. Poor food quality, excessive use of oil, questionable freshness, hygiene concerns, small portions, indifferent service, and premium pricing that simply doesn't match the experience. Based on this visit, I would not recommend Delhi Darbar, Jogeshwari West.

Came here after all the hype over their Biryani but it turned out the most average testing ever, the rice had no flavour chicken tasted over cooked and the masala was tangy and flavourless. Chicken Tikka was good. The green chutney was yummy. Service was a bit weird. Our waiter kept lingering around our table listening to our conversation. It felt like we were on constant watch. Not comfortable at all.

Honestly, for 600+ rupees, they provided very little biryani, selection of meat was not good. Too much oily. Custard caramel was nice. I think so the biryani was very normal and not kinda special one. They charge high amount for their brand/place and not for the food.

โญ 1 Star I traveled a long distance to dine at this restaurant. After placing our order, we waited 30โ45 minutes for the food to arrive. We were served the starters, finished them, and then waited another 45 minutes. After all this time, the manager came and informed us that the main dish we ordered was no longer available as it had run out. The customer service was extremely poor, and the staffโs attitude was unacceptable. Not a single person apologized or tried to resolve the situation. There was absolutely no concern for the customers. Our children left the restaurant hungry, which is completely unacceptable. I will never return to this place, and I strongly advise others not to visit, as there is no customer service at all.
