I have been learning Harmonium in Vyas Sangeet Vidyalay for last one and half year. Our Guru Sh.Kundekar Sir teaches students personally though there is a group of six / seven students attending class at the same time. His style of teaching is very peculiar based on principle of slow and steady wins the race, meaning no hurry in learning, but one should practice more and more of a Raga before proceeding to next Raga, which brings accuracy/perfectness in playing Harmonium. I am very happy and satisfied with this style of teaching and learning. Further students are given opportunity to present themselves in public/ before all Gurus and students three to fours times in a year with their art of singing or playing instruments. It's great to be associated with Vyas Sangeet Vidyalaya.....

This is about harmonium class and I left in 2 months out of shear frustration in Aug 2023. 1. Too many students are in each batch. So one can't hear his own playing. 2. Harmonium Teacher goes too slow. If someone practice at home and masters the bandish, still teacher will not teach him next lesson. I have seen most students spending 18+ months have learnt only 3 or 4 bandish and that too in one scale. 3. He does not want to adopt new techniques to expedite learning. Just keep discouraging pupils. 4. Each student has different capabilities and way of understanding. But that is not taken into consideration while teaching.
