Dear Manager, I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent customer service experience at your establishment. A few months ago, we purchased a gold chain from your store, which unfortunately broke. Instead of opting for a repair, we decided to exchange it for a new one. As long-standing customers, we requested a reasonable accommodation—to pay half of the difference for the 14K gold (including GST) upfront, with the remaining amount to be settled by evening. This was due to a temporary cash shortage and the fact that our elderly parents, who were handling the transaction, are not well-versed with digital payment methods like GPay. Despite surrendering the old chain and assuring full payment by the end of the day, the executive on duty was uncooperative and insensitive to our situation. It was disheartening to see a lack of empathy, especially toward senior citizens who had to make an additional trip due to this inflexibility. As a reputed jeweler, I expect your team to handle such situations with professionalism and courtesy, keeping in mind that customers may face genuine constraints. Is this how you treat long-term customers? Earning commission doesn’t justify disrespect. Your staff should learn to be polite, humble, and understanding—especially toward seniors. If this is your standard of service, then BIG NO NEXT TIME. I urge you to remind your staff to treat customers—especially elderly ones—with patience and understanding. A little compassion can go a long way in retaining trust and loyalty.
