Absolutely disgusting and deeply disappointing experience...
Absolutely disgusting and deeply disappointing experience at Bade Miyan. I ordered a chicken biryani and was horrified to find a cockroach in it while eating. Finding a cockroach in food is a serious hygiene and food safety issue, and it completely ruined the meal and the entire dining experience. What was even more disappointing was how the situation was handled. We immediately brought the matter to the attention of the owner/management, expecting an apology, an explanation, and some accountability. Instead, the bill was quietly deleted/cancelled, and it appeared that the management was more interested in making the issue disappear than addressing the underlying hygiene problem. This is not just about one spoiled meal. It is about customer safety, cleanliness, and how a business responds when a serious issue is reported. I have photographs of the cockroach in the biryani and am sharing them along with this review. A restaurantโs reputation means nothing if basic hygiene standards are not maintained. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this place and would urge potential customers to consider this incident before deciding to dine here.

Bademiyan is one of Mumbaiโs most iconic food spots, and it definitely lives up to its reputation. Located in Colaba, this place is especially famous for its late-night crowd and irresistible aroma of freshly grilled kebabs. The moment you arrive, you can see the energyโpeople waiting, food being prepared live, and the buzz of a true street food legend. I tried the seekh kebabs, chicken tikka, and their signature rolls, and everything was cooked to perfection. The meat was juicy, well-marinated, and full of rich, smoky flavor. The rolls, in particular, are a must-haveโperfectly wrapped, filling, and extremely satisfying. Portion sizes are decent, and the quality of ingredients stands out. Service is quick despite the heavy rush, which is impressive. The staff is efficient and manages orders well, even during peak hours. Prices are slightly on the higher side compared to regular street vendors, but youโre paying for both taste and legacy. Seating can be limited, and you might have to stand or wait, but thatโs part of the authentic experience. Overall, Bademiyan is a must-visit for anyone who wants to enjoy classic Mumbai street-style Mughlai food.

I was not at all happy with the taste of food. Though they have a few non veg options, I couldn't find any with gravy. Menu had iall tems likerolls, tilkka, fry. We were lucky to get a table, after a very tiring day. There is huge foot traffic here because of its legacy and the location. Being a Sunday, people were just pouring in as couples, familiy, young vibrant people from all sections of life. I was not at all impressed with their mutton dum biriyani. However, egg chicken roll saved the day. The cooking happens on the other side of the road opposite the dining area. If you are a person looking for a peaceful, destination with an ambience, i would suggest you to go for some other location. Due to LPG shortage they dont use cooking gas and hence could not help us witha flask of hot watee for our baby, which is totally acceptable.

Fresh, hot, and tasty kebab wraps! I had two of the chicken tikk wraps. If you are a foreigner, just go straight inside and get a table. I thought the queue and you have to order by the grill place. This gets extremely crowded to a point that diners are on their car hood as their table. So plan your visited accordingly. I left my bag here with all my passports, wallets, stuff.. and was able to get it back! Accepts card payments, cash, qr

I had mutton biryani, chicken biryani & roti with boneless chicken. The biryani tasted pretty decent. The quantity was pretty less. The taste was pretty average. The roti with boneless chicken was decent. The service was average. The waiters could be more responsive. The Ambience was decent. Overall the food wasnโt satisfactory in both quantity and taste/quality. An average experience overall.
