Naseeruddin Shah, born 20 July 1950 in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, is widely regarded as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema, especially celebrated for his work in parallel and arthouse films.
Shah lives at Sand Pebbles, near Joggers' Park in Bandra West, Mumbai, with his wife, actress Ratna Pathak Shah, and their children.
He co-founded the theatre group Motley Productions in 1977 and has staged numerous acclaimed plays at Prithvi Theatre, alongside a film career spanning Nishant, Masoom, Sarfarosh, and A Wednesday.
