While trying to conceive, we had been through all the regular routes, homeopathy, ayurveda, HRT, IUI. Something about IVF made us feel that maybe it wasn’t the best way ahead for us. But the truth is, we probably needed to get to it sooner to save ourselves the prolonged disappointment and get closure either-way. I believe we met Dr. Anand at the right time in our lives, thanks to friends of ours who had just delivered their babies under his care. We were immediately put at ease when we met him. Unlike some of the biggest doctors we met, who put me through some very unnecessary and discouraging tests, Dr.Anand asked us to put all that in the back burner & start afresh with complete faith. He was always very realistic and practical about the options and odds he presented us with. No false promises, no pessimism either. He caught something in one of my reports that no one else had so far and with a small procedure we took care of it and marched towards our transfer. We were blessed to have conceived in our first attempt. It was such a surreal and special moment. But the journey didn’t get any easier. I had minor bleeding incidents in the first trimester & Dr. Anand was always accessible and responsive in administering the best protocol to safeguard the pregnancy. In the 22nd week, after everything seemed under control, I went to visit my family in Chennai. During that time, some odd symptoms pushed me to go for a Scan where we found out that I was almost fully dilated and had to be taken in for an emergency cerclage & pessary placement. All these words just flew over my head. But something kept me very calm and strong, I knew I had to keep it together for the baby and not make things worse by panicking. Dr. Anand was very involved right from talking to the radiologist to finding out about the doctor who would be performing the procedure. The recovery period was very tense & we always had him in our corner any time we wanted to understand the situation better. I was on modified bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy during which, I only practiced gratitude for having come this far and having caught things at the right time. Thanks to the best medical care, family and an extraordinary husband who dint let me worry about anything, I completed 37 weeks and delivered my baby through an elective C-sec. It will be one of my most humbling achievements as the odds of this happening were bleak and each passing day post the cerclage was a bonus. I was overcome with resilience along with complete surrender. It’s a special state of mind to lock into and I wish to carry this strength forward. We wholeheartedly thank Dr. Anand for giving us the beautiful gift that is our daughter. His passion shone in the way he tailor made our protocol for us, screened every report with a fine tooth comb while projecting a spirit that kept things light & in perspective. We love you. This was not possible without you, your care and your expertise. Ekta & Ninad
